Full Time Academic Paraprofessional (.875) FTE
Paraprofessionals work with the Student Support Services and classroom teachers to support students in classrooms. Hours of work would be school days 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Provide academic assistance to a student or small group of students, using teacher provided resources.
Provide guidance and focus for specific students during whole group teacher instruction.
Contribute to a positive, supportive and engaging environment.
Provide homework assistance.
Exemplify DCS’s’ core values with all interactions including students, families and/or colleagues.
High school diploma and working on a degree (preferably in education).
Experience in schools as a paraprofessional or volunteer.
Strong interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively with students and school staff.
Excellent organizational skills.

Full-time Administrative Assistant (1.0) FTE
Discovery Charter School seeks to employ an administrative Assistant. The employee would be supported by the office manager and the Director of Operations.
Help to answer phones and manage office communications
Provide support to students and parents who enter the office.
Answer emails and make calls to prospective families who are interested in enrollment to schedule tours.
Assist in completing paperwork, filing, and cleaning the office.
Potential for promotion to working with the Special Education Coordinator to manage student case work.
Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with students, peers, and parents.
Demonstrate effective written and oral communication with parents/guardians that displays cultural sensitivity.
Understand and practice School Board policies and adhere to federal and state laws that apply to his/her job assignment.
